Wonder Woman Appreciation

Had a little free time

Personal Website

For our final in e-Comm we were told to create a website using dream weaver. It needed to include a bio, our elevator speech and best projects from each quarter. Even though it was a lengthy process after I got started the program we used made it really easy. I learned how to create links so you can go back and forth between my home and project page. Also i found out how easily you could change the look of your website, with text, text color, font, background, boarders, ext. Even though it may not be a live website, i'm excited to be able to uses these skills in the future.

How to Create My Logo Design

Creating my logo design is really simple because i mostly just used triangles and lines the hardest part about it is deciding what colors you want.

To begin you need to create a simple triangle. after you'll want to rotate it till its at 90 degrees.
Then you'll want to add another triangle facing the opposite direction of it so it's in a line.
After you've added 5 in a row, make another line to the right of the last one with three triangles and than one on top of that to finish it off. It should look like a play button composed of a lot of little triangles now.

Now draw a J in the middle. You could just use a type face if thats easier but writing it myself helped make it more personal.
To add the sound line that sits behind all of it, first you're going to just make a straight horizontal line. Then you'll click on the gradient tool on the side and pick a basic white and black with white in the middle and black on the outside.

It should look like this when finished

then to added the jagged lines go to roughen and select a small size and lots of detail.
lastly place the line behind the play button and group it all together with command G

And you're done!

ONW collage

We worked on these pieces using photoshop.  For the first photo i used different filters on the compass and fade on the letters. On my picture of the butterfly we worked with the direct select and changing the hue colors. With the gradient photo that says NORTHWEST, i used horizontal type mask tool to type out the letters. Than i used the gradients tool to change the color on the outside of the letters. Lastly for my college we were given 6 images to put together. Also we had to edit out a lamp pole. I removed the lamp by using the clone stamp and then added a mask to the images i overlaid on the picture of the school so they would be more faded and have less harsh corners. Finally I put in the raven and added effects too all of my images.

Logo design

With my logo designs I wanted to show sharpness and precision. Also I wanted to enforce the idea of "Just Push Play" or "Push Play".  I started looked at a heartbeat design because i wanted to display that my brand was the heart of my focus, and give it an alive feeling. Then i sized down the spiked lines and realized it looked like audio.  I liked the idea and i had been looking at different sharp logo designs. I came across the idea of the play button when i started laying out triangles on my art board.
I liked the audio lines and play button but it didn't feel very personal so i added the J. Then I created more designs with different colors, ever though I want to mostly stick with purple because i like how soothing and stable it looks. Lastly i put triangles in a line with my name to create a header and complete more of my identity package.

Personality Quiz. What is ENFP?

 My Personality Test

My personality type is ENFP, which stands for Extrovert, Intuition, Feeling, and Perceive. This group feels motivated by being with others, focuses on the big picture at the end of a project, value personal feelings over logical decisions and lastly prefers to keep their opinions open. Some specific characteristics of ENFPs are they’re charming, risk-takers, observant, spontaneous, and independent.  Famous celebrities that share these traits are Will Smith, Robin Williams, Walt Disney, and Ann Frank. Followed by some fictional characters that include Arial from The Little Mermaid, Steve Urkel, and Will from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Aif.
I believe this personality type mostly fits me, especially with the out going, extrovert part, and open, perceive part. I’m a very energetic person and there’s no doubt in the word that I would love to be out with a group of people than inside all day reading a book. I also try my hardest to keep an open mind and listen very closely when someone is telling me his or her personal view on something. I really enjoy input from others and sometimes I even change my thoughts based on their reason. On the other hand though I would have to disagree some with the feeling part of ENFP. Yes, like every human, my emotion sometimes gets in the way of my decisions but I work really hard to try and understand the logical and rational side of things. Although, I may not completely agree with these traits, I feel like they give me a much better understanding of myself, showing me things that I couldn’t really see about myself from a first persons perspective. Also I feel more comfortable knowing more about ENFP so when I work with others I can contribute more.

What graphic design is to me

Graphic design is involved in my life in a million different ways, but the place I focus on it most is in comic books. Comic books are not only telling a story but also are explaining it in mostly just colors and shapes. It has also opened up so many new possibilities for art by creating these complex characters. They move people with emotion and inspire others with beauty.

Professional Article Review Guidelines

In this article the writer, Natasha Singer addresses the problem of social media post and how they can effect your chances of getting onto a college. She states that 31% of colleges admissions officers look at possible candidates social media accounts, and its on the rise. As this becomes more popular, theres a great debate on if colleges should be allowed to do this.

As a high school student hoping to attend a college, the thought that posts i've made in the past or someone else has posted tagging me, can effect my chances of getting into my university of choice its quite scary. Also the thought that they could possibly mistake someone else's account for mine or read a untrue rumor and base their decision on something i didn't do or couldn't help is also very worrisome.

Also the fact that some kids will create two Facebook accounts confuses me. Whats the point of posting something on a site your family and possible implores are on if you are worried about them seeing it. Plus, no account will stay secret for long,  as soon as you post your face on it, its only a matter of time.

Though i've never done it, it urges me even more to remember to never share anything scandalous or inconsiderate on social media. Growing up with the internet in my life i have to be extra careful to keep my personal information private and things like this just urge me more.

Psycho Girlfriend Chase

The scope of my video was that a crazy girlfriend had spotted her a girl flirting with her boyfriend  and chase and attacked her but couldn't stay mad once seeing him and was just still happy she had him even though she's kind of insane. The process in which we made this video was first we brainstormed the plot and shots we wanted. After we decided on them we went out and filmed what we needed. Then we imported our stuff onto the computers and started editing, cutting shots and adding in music. After we completed our videos we posted them onto the internet. While working on this I learned how to cut music and how to line it up with the shots so it's not as obvious. Also I learned that if you're in the director role when filming it's better to be bossy and get the shots you want than to be shy and regret it later. If I was to redo this project I would probably cut my clips shorted so it'd be a tighter and faster paced video, also I would want more of the same shots but from different angles. Things I would keep the same would be my music and the plot line because I really enjoyed our different idea and how well the music fit with the shots. In my next projects I will hopefully choose an idea very out of the box like this one was for us because I know I'm capable of coming up with them and I will most defiantly not be shy to get the shots I want and  I will focus on getting more angles. All around I feel like me and my partner did a good job and I'm very happy with how all my videos turned out, especially because I joined this program with very little video production knowledge and now I feel much more experienced and comfortable with it.

The 6 Shots System

when taking a a shot, weather it be for a picture or a film scene there are 6 good go to shots that when followed make any scene come together nice, still frame or moving. These shots each display different content that when tied together can really tell a story.

The first shot you should do is of the hands. This shot lets the viewer know what the subject is doing. This shot can also be done with feet.
The shot after than should be a close up of the face. Maybe even closer than this. this shot is to show emotion and what the subject is feeling.
After that you should shoot over the shoulder. this gives the view a sense of what the subject is viewing and gives more information on what they're doing.
Then you should do a medium shot. To give a full view of what the subject is doing and their emotions in the scene.
The wide shot that comes next help more tie together what their doing and shows some of the environment around them. It is also in a sense leading up to the last shot.

The last shot is extra wide. This shot is really to show the big picture and everything thats going on. It tells the viewer not only who she is and what she's doing but also where she is and whats going on around her.
